We know when a child suffers a spinal cord injury the aftermath can be extremely traumatic for the whole family.
We have over 40 year’s experience of treating and rehabilitating children with spinal cord injuries. St Francis children's and young person unit takes people up to the age of 17 years, is the first of its kind in the country. There is an outdoor play and recreation area and indoor activities room to keep children entertained.

Our rehabilitation programme is designed to promote age-appropriate independence. We provide ongoing support and monitoring as a child or young person grows and develops. Following an initial admission, children usually return for a comprehensive annual assessment and review of care needs.
We think it is important to work in partnership with children and their families over a long period of time, building close relationships, identifying needs and providing structured practical and emotional care.
