Should I bring in my medicines?
Yes. We will keep your medicines in a secure medicines cabinet next to your bed and will use the medicines you are familiar with during your stay. If these medicines run out, or new ones are started we will supply you with a further 28 days and you will leave with no less than 14 days supply.
What if my medicines are changed?
If your medicines are changed we will inform you and ask to take your old medicines away so when you leave the hospital you have only what you need.
Will I be prescribed medicines at my outpatient appointment?
You may be. We will provide urgent medicines or hospital-only medicines. If the doctor does not feel that you require urgent medicines they will give you a form for you to take to your GP explaining what medicines they would like you to have. This allows your GP to have more control over your medicines and link it in with what they have already given you.
What if I have a question about my medicines?
Please call medicines information 01296 315281, or your community pharmacist may be able to help
What if I think I have been given the wrong medicines?
If you think you have been given the wrong medicines, either contact the dispensary of the hospital that you were in or contact the ward or clinic you were attending. If you are in doubt do not delay in contacting us.
